Course Objectives:
The trainee will be able to diagnose on-vehicle electrical and mechanical faults and carry out test procedures to Delphi Distributor Standards using the Delphi Laser 2000 and DIAMAND tester, and other test equipment, as well as be able to carry out procedures using special tools and technical data.

Who should attend?
The course is designed specifically for the Diesel Diagnostic Technician who will be responsible for on-vehicle diagnosis of electronic control diesel fuel systems. He should already have some experience in DPS and/or DPC fuel pumps, diesel engine technology and some understanding of auto-electrical systems.

Course Content:
The course is divided into four main subjects:

• Use of Laser 2000 on MY92 & MY 95/98 Ford Transit/LDV/Peugeot 607
• Fault Finding
• Construction and Operation of EPIC System
• Minor Repairs to Pumps

Each subject is covered individually and demonstrations are interactive with tests and practical exercises, this enables the instructor to monitor the trainee’s progress.

The course covers EPIC 80 (DI) system as fitted to Ford Transit MY92/95/97and Peugeot (IDI) applications with full electronic control. Explanations of closed-loop control for fuel delivery, timing and exhaust  gas recirculation systems are given.
