Course Objective:
The student will be able to diagnose faults and carry out complete overhaul and test procedures to Delphi Distributor Standards, as well as be able to carry out procedures using special tools, test equipment and technical data.

The course is designed specifically for the Fuel Injection Technician who will be responsible for repairing diesel fuel injection pumps. The individual should already have attended the Delphi EPIC diagnostics and/or pump repair course. Some knowledge of auto-electrical systems and use of computers would be an advantage.

Course Content:
The course is divided into seven main subjects:

• Safety procedures when working on high-pressure fuel systems
• Theory of operation
• On-vehicle diagnostics using Laser 2000 and Delphi "DIAMAND" system testers.
• Remove and refit procedures for CR pump, injectors, fuel filter and high-pressure pipes
• Re-programming of Injector Control Unit (ICU)
• Wiring checks using multi-meter and oscilloscope
• Setting and Testing

Each subject is covered individually and demonstrations are interactive with tests and practical exercises, this enables the instructor to monitor the trainee’s progress.

The course covers a common rail equipped vehicle, usually a Ford Focus and/or Ford Mondeo.
