The need to diagnose and test Common Rail injection systems has provided a fresh challenge to both workshops and manufacturers alike.
Ever since the launch of the first Common Rail vehicle, Delphi Diesel Aftermarket has placed a great emphasis on providing its network with the tools it requires to service Common Rail systems.
In 2003 Delphi launched the Sealed Rail kit (YDT278) – a unique all-makes diagnostic solution that pinpoints mechanical systems faults to either the pump or the injectors.
Delphi is now pleased to announce the launch of the Heavy-Duty Sealed Rail kit (YDT500) which takes the principles behind the original Sealed Rail and applies it to the truck and agricultural sectors.
The Product
The HD Sealed Rail Diagnostic Kit is an all-makes kit, designed to work on fuel injection systems manufactured by Bosch, Caterpillar and Denso. There are two main components within the kit; the sealed rail pump pressure tester and the injector backleakage measurement equipment.
The pressure tester will give an exact reading of the pressure generated by the pump. By comparing this reading with the specified pressure measurement for that application, the technician can make a definitive decision on whether the pump is faulty. If a fault is found with the pump then it is possible to carry out further diagnostics using the Delphi False Actuator Kit (YDT410).
The backleakage equipment measures the return flow from each injector to identify any individual injector that is not performing to specification.
The kit also contains the pipes and adaptors which enable the workshop to use the kit on all of the applications fitted with the engines detailed on the following page.
In addition to its heavy-duty capability, the YDT500 is also compatible with many Common Rail car applications manufactured by Mercedes and Audi along with Ford Duramax and Hummer vehicles.
