Delphi re-news partnership with British Truck Racing

January 2008 - Following an exciting season of truck racing in 2007, Delphi is once again pleased to confirm its sponsorship of the British Truck Racing Championship in 2008. As manufacturers of diesel technology for heavy duty vehicles, Delphi’s position as sponsor will help to raise the profile of both UK truck racing and Delphi’s developments in the Commercial Vehicle sector.

“Truck racing is currently experiencing a renewed interest from Motorsport fans, commented Chris Jones from the BTRA, “and with a powerful brand such as Delphi again confirmed as title sponsor we are looking forward to a very successful 2008.”

Delphi’s Dave Wadsworth says “We are delighted to continue the partnership with the British Truck Racing Association. As a result of sponsoring the 2007 championship, we encouraged many of the specialist diesel network to promote their businesses including technical partners, Colchester Fuel Injection and Merlin Diesel, who are currently appointing DieselPoints. It’s a great way of promoting the specialist network and Delphi’s range of products and services.”

The Delphi British truck racing championship went down to the wire last year as Stuart Oliver battled Chris Levett to the class A title, and in class B, only nine points separated title contenders Graham Powell and Garry George, the eventual winner. The close, exciting racing and the powerful racing trucks brought record crowds, and Delphi is looking forward to an even more popular season in 2008 when the Championship starts at Brands Hatch on March 23rd.
