The Delphi British Truck Racing Championship had two concentrated weeks of action with events at Donington Park on August 8/9 and Thruxton on August 15/16.
Chris Levett, MAN (Class ‘A’) and David Ball, Seddon Atkinson (Class ‘B’) were the dominant drivers in the action-packed rounds at Donington Park – taking three wins a piece in their respective class races.
While Levett and Ball collected all the silverware in the six championship races between them, there was a shake-up to the form book in the non-championship ‘Track Attack’ Grand Final on Sunday; the early laps were led by Elton Boocock, Seddon until the quicker Class ‘A’ machinery started to catch the ‘B’ class boys. Then it was a tremendous scrap for the podium places between Mat Summerfield, Stuart Oliver and David Jenkins. Just 0.512s.split the trio at the chequered flag with Summerfield just hanging on for victory.
The sunny and warm Thruxton circuit saw a double win for Stuart Oliver, MAN (Class ‘A’) and in Class B one win apiece for Ben Horne, Volvo White and Elton Boocock, Seddon. But with the high-speed Hampshire circuit taking its toil on many machines the results could have been very different in an all-action weekend of heavyweight racing.
Hopefully they will all be back up to speed for the next Delphi British Championship rounds at Pembrey, South Wales on October 17/18. For more info visit http://www.btra.co.uk/
