UPDATE FOR ALL USERS PLUS NEW DVD FOR DIESEL POINT

Direct Evolution is Delphi Diesel Aftermarket’s DVD-based software that provides customers with the range of technical information required to operate successfully in today’s market place.

1.        NEW SOFTWARE LEVEL FOR DIESEL POINT

Delphi
is pleased to announce the launch of its 2009 Direct Evolution DVD. With regular updates to parts and application data, Delphi has continued to develop the software to ensure that it meets the constantly evolving requirements of customers.

The current Direct Evolution license will expire on March 31st 2009. In order to enjoy a smooth transition between discs, customers should order the 2009 DVD immediately. The new disc is available from stock today.

2.        NEW SOFTWARE LEVEL FOR DIESEL POINT

Delphi is pleased to announce the introduction of a new level of Direct Evolution software for 2009 – Diesel Point (DDRX209D). This DVD has been designed specifically for the Diesel Point network and provides information directly related to this customer group.

The main contents of the Diesel Point version are:

·        Part number and application detail for all technologies

·        Removal & refit manuals for Common Rail applications

·        Technical information notes relating to Common Rail main units

·        Cross-referencing versus VM’s and competitors

·        Tooling and diagnostic catalogue

The Diesel Point DVD will replace Direct Evolution Lite in all Diesel Point packs from now onwards. Existing Diesel Point garages that are renewing their subscription for Direct Evolution should place orders for part number DDRX209D.

3.        INSTALLATION

In order to make the re-subscription process quicker and simpler, current users will have the option not to install the 2009 DVD.  Included within the DVD case is a list of simple instructions that make re-installation unnecessary if Direct Evolution 2008 is already present on the PC.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL CUSTOMERS WILL NEED TO ORDER A 2009 DVD AS THE NEW LICENSE CODE WILL BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE DVD CASE.

4.        The Direct Evolution Range

In addition to the Diesel Point version, Delphi offers three further versions of Direct Evolution in order to cater for the requirements of different customer types:

Direct Evolution         -   the standard package for workshops

(DDRX209)              includes all SI notes, warrantynotes, repair manuals                    & testplans

Direct Evolution Server  -     multi-installation option ideal for multi-user server-based customers

(DDRX209S)                       same content as Direct Evolution

Direct Evolution Lite    -        low-cost version for office/warehouse/independent

          garage use

(DDRX209L)                        reduced content covers application information, x-refs & parts lists

5.        Future Development

Delphi had previously announced the intention to move to a web-based solution for Direct Evolution during 2008. Unfortunately, development of the website has proved extremely challenging and has taken longer than originally foreseen. The target is now to have the internet solution operational during the second half of 2009.

The move to a web-based solution will provide customers with several major benefits:

·        Even more up-to-date information. Delphi already provides regular updates for Direct Evolution but with the move to an internet-based solution, information such as application data and technical information notes will be updated on a daily basis.

·        No installation required. With new Windows software released at regular intervals and potential conflicts with other software present on a PC, the installation of software DVD’s can prove problematic. The move to a web-based system will eradicate these issues.

·        No additional cost. All customers that purchase the 2009 DVD will get access to the new web-based version from its launch until the end of the 2009 license year (31st March 2010). Access to the website will be via an activation code that will be unique to each customer.

We will update you with more information on the web-based solution later in the year.

6.        Pricing

Delphi is pleased to announce that we have held the price of Direct Evolution for the second successive year. Customers will therefore pay the same price for the 2009 license year as they did in 2007 and 2008.

Direct Evolution is sold on an annual subscription basis. In other words, for a once-a-year payment you will receive the initial DVD and then have access to the monthly updates via the website for a further 12 months.

The DVD will be charged at full price for the first six months of the license year (April – September). From October 09 to March 10 the price is reduced by 50%.
