The Diesel Max software package is exclusive to Delphi’s Diesel Point network and combines specialist C2i code capability (read and write) on Delphi Common Rail applications with broad diagnostic coverage on ABS, air conditioning, gearbox, instrument dashboard and immobilizer systems. The depth and breadth of DS software makes the product range invaluable for both the Diesel Point garage and the authorised Delphi network.
Delphi offers two hardware options for Diesel Max – the DS100E PDA-based tool and the DS150E for the PC. Both tools offer the same diagnostic capability with the choice between the two options essentially coming down to user preference.
2. THE DS150E UPGRADE KIT
The DS150E upgrade kit (YDT535) gives DS100E users the capability to run their Diesel Max software on a PC by linking that PC with their existing VCI. Users who take this option will therefore have the flexibility of diagnosing vehicles using either a PDA or a laptop/PC.
The YDT535 consists of a Bluetooth dongle for the PC, a software order form for the DS150E and a DS150E instruction manual. Upon receipt of the kit, the user simply needs to complete the order form and fax it back to the number shown. You will then receive your DS150E Diesel Max code from Delphi and be able to download the DS150E software from the internet immediately.
The purchase of this upgrade kit will give the user a DS150E software subscription for the remainder of their current DS100E license period. Therefore if the upgrade kit is purchased on the same day as the DS100E subscription it gives the users a full 12 months of DS150E software.
3. Why UPGRADE TO the DS150E?
The DS100E PDA gives users the benefit of being hand-held and so is fully portable around the vehicle. However there are many advantages to having the additional option of displaying diagnostic findings on a PC screen:
· Increased screen size makes it easier to view data and results
· Provides ability to display results graphically (as shown below)
· Screens can be easily printed provided the PC is linked to a printer
· Possible to link PC to VCI via a USB connection in case of Bluetooth difficulties
· Ensures immediate back-up in place in case of PDA problem (eg.battery failure)
4. FUTURE SOFTWARE SUBSCRIPTIONS
As detailed in section 2 of this note, the upgrade kit will give users a DS150E subscription up to the expiry date of their DS100E license. When renewing DS100E licenses in future years, users will also need to order an additional DS150E license (SV10813) in order to have the continued benefit of using both platforms. It is not necessary to order the YDT535 kit again as the user can continue to use the Bluetooth dongle in future years.
