1. INTRODUCTION
DIAMAND software subscriptions are charged on an annual basis with the current subscription year expiring on March 31st 2009. All DIAMAND users should therefore order their 2009 DVD now to ensure continued access to the software and to benefit from the new applications that have been added during the last 12 months.
2. New APPLICATIONS
There has been a great deal of development on DIAMAND during the course of the last 12 months. This development has been focused in four distinct areas; updates to existing Delphi OE applications, new Delphi OE applications, new all-makes applications and the migration of older Delphi EPIC applications from the Laser 2000 platform.
The full list of applications on the 2009 CD is attached as an appendix to this note with the main additions since 2008 highlighted below:

The 2009 software update CD will also contain an increased range of diagnostic manuals together with extended language coverage of existing manuals.
3. NEW GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE
The 2009 DVD sees the launch of a new graphical user interface (GUI) for DIAMAND software. The new GUI will be used for all future development and can be seen on the new Renault Megane III K9K application on this release. The many features and benefits of the new software design include:
· More advanced screen design and graphical display
· Re-sizeable screens. Facilitates use of DIAMAND in parallel with other software
· VCI status icon. Ensures user knows status of connection with the VCI
· Wifi connection status icon. Ensures user knows status of Wifi connection and networks
· Historic log of last ten diagnostic interrogations
· Easier vehicle application selection
· View of diagnostic socket location
· Access to documentation by publication number
· Direct access to DIAMAND user guide
4. The 2009 Update DVD
The 2009 DIAMAND DVD (DDRX107D) will act as an update CD for current DIAMAND (YDT300, YDT450 & YDT460) users and will also act as an installation CD for new DIAMAND 2 users.
The current CD (DDRX107C) will expire on April 30th 2009 - users who do not order the 2009 update CD (DDRX107D) will lose access to all Delphi diagnostic information after this date.
** Please note that all current DIAMAND software should be uninstalled prior to installing the DDRX107D.
5. DIAMAND 2
In early 2008, Delphi launched its wireless diagnostic tool, DIAMAND 2 (YDT460). With new features, increased functionality and additional application coverage, DIAMAND 2 is an essential tool for every Delphi authorised diagnostic workshop.
Future software development will be focussed exclusively on DIAMAND 2 with all applications developed from now onwards being limited to the YDT450 & YDT460 platforms. It is therefore essential that all current DIAMAND 1 (YDT300) users upgrade to DIAMAND 2 as soon as possible in order to ensure that they continue to enjoy access to the very latest Delphi OE applications from time of vehicle launch.
6. Buy-Back Scheme for DIAMAND 1
In recognition of the investment made by its network during recent years, Delphi is operating a buy-back scheme for all YDT300 and YDT450 users. We are offering a credit to all customers who purchase a DIAMAND 2 (YDT460) upon return of their original DIAMAND kit.
This scheme will be operated via the Warranty Returns process. Customers who wish to take advantage of the buy-back should complete the attached form and fax-back to the number shown. You will then be sent a warranty authorisation number and only when you have received this number should you return the product. Any product received without authorisation from Delphi will not be credited. Please note that customers are responsible for the freight costs in returning the product.
This buy-back scheme will run until May 31st 2009.

8. Software Pricing
DIAMAND software is sold on an annual subscription basis. In other words, for a once-a-year payment you will receive a CD-ROM and have access to the updates issued via the website for a full 12 months.
The update will be charged at full price for the first six months of the DIAMAND license year (April – September). From October 08 to March 09 the price is reduced by 50%.
